We Are a Rights Respecting School – Bronze Award Achieved!

We’re incredibly proud to share that Ysgol Antur Cwm is now officially a UNICEF Rights Respecting School, having achieved the Bronze: Rights Committed Award (2025–2027).

But this isn’t just a certificate — it’s a statement of who we are and what we believe in.

At the heart of this award is the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, and our commitment to embedding those rights into everything we do — from the way we teach to the way we listen, support, and guide.

What It Means:

✅ Pupils have a voice — and it’s heard✅ Every learner’s dignity is respected✅ Ideas from our young people actively shape how the school runs✅ Staff and pupils understand and live the values of children’s rights — every day

For many of our pupils — boys who have experienced exclusion, trauma, or feeling unheard — this is powerful. It says:

You belong here. Your voice matters. You deserve to feel safe, respected, and seen.

This achievement is just the start. We’re already moving toward the Silver Award, continuing to build a school culture where respect isn’t just expected — it’s modelled, taught, and earned.

To our incredible Steering Group, to every pupil who spoke up, and to the staff who’ve helped embed these values — thank you. This milestone is yours.

Let’s keep building something that lasts.
